BMCR eventually tackled sexism and gender discrimination. Both those fights continue within the Black arena for the purpose of creating equity at every level of the church and in society. The focus on full-inclusion and acceptance of LGBTQ persons has not been a top priority for BMCR, but it is a great concern for me personally. By Faith Magazine (BFM) is the exclusive communication vehicle for the 2,500 Black congregations in the United Methodist Church (UMC). Beginning September 2015 copies of BFM was mailed to every Black congregation as well as to Bishops, District Superintendents,agency and conference executives and a growing list of subscribers.
